Fred Litzky (President)
After receiving an MBA from New York University Business School, Fred began his career in direct marketing in 1980 with The Walter Karl Companies, a list management and brokerage company. Fred gained most of his experience developing the alternative media department, specializing in package inserts and statement programs. He was responsible for the development of programs for several major mailers, including Grolier Enterprises, Newfield Publications, and more. Within two years, Fred had put together one of the company's most valued and profitable departments, with over forty programs. In addition, Fred was an active participant in the sales representation of several mailing lists as well.
In 1982, Fred was offered the opportunity to have equity partnership with P&L Direct Marketing Group in Los Angeles. As the partner with the administrative responsibility of running the company, Fred was instrumental in building P&L Direct Marketing Group into one of the most successful and respected companies of its type, known for its creative and aggressive approach to the list business. His successes included IMOCO, DAK Industries, Walt Disney, Parenting Magazine, Toys To Grow On, I. Magnin, Kohler, After The Stork, Book of the Month Club, and several others.
In January 1990, Fred began Catalyst Direct Marketing, a new venture utilizing his knowledge and experience to build a list company designed to fulfill the pressing needs of the new decade. His relationship with clients such as The Right Start Catalog, Troll Associates, Back to Basics Toys and more has enabled Catalyst to become involved in the growth and success of their businesses. His intuitive nature of the direct mail industry has permitted his clients prepare not only for today's needs, but what changes are necessary to meet tomorrow's challenges.
